Perspex Custom made Acrylic /Perspex ...
Acrylic is a very versatile product. Having excellent optical properties and being much lighter & stronger than glass, it is the ideal material for use in display cases. During my time as a fabricator I have made many cases to house all sorts of weird and wonderful things, from the usual sporting paraphernalia like footballs, cricket balls, bats, caps or netball bibs to the really odd collectibles like miniature shoes, tinned goods and mannequin hands!
Of course there's always the senior citizen looking to showcase their quilt work, silver spoons or model ships.
We have catered for all walks of life looking to display something their proud of and there's no better way to do that than with a beautifully finished custom display case. Normally consisting of a timber or plastic base with a meticulously finished acrylic cover of various thickness. Most designs consist of two bends in the acrylic with the ends glued on and routed flush. The glue is like water and the final join is strong & seamless. For something a little different, possibly more modern looking you can choose the squarer option where each face of the case is a separate piece. This is the option more often chosen by Art Galleries, of which we have had repeat work from some very pleased curators. Then there's the "exploded view" look where each panel is separated by chrome fittings by 10 or so millimeters, with flame polished edges & an elevated platform on which the showpiece sits - very swanky indeed.
These are just some examples of what I have done in the past and there are many variations that I look forward to being apart of. If you have an idea you would like to discuss, or you simply want to keep the dust of that 1/72 scale 1928 Supermarine Spitfire, we can accommodate you and your budget.
