Material Finish

Our Solid Colour acrylics are high grade cast acrylic with a gloss finish both sides, unless stated as having a matte finish in which case there would be a matte finish one side and gloss finish on the other. Note that colours may vary when viewed on different monitors, For exact colour swatches you can purchase sample swatch packs. See sample swatches in the materials list. 

Protective masking

Each side of the acrylic is coated in a paper protective layer for protection during transport and storage. For best results with your acrylic ensure that it is stored laying flat to avoid warpage.

Why use cast acrylic?

Cast acrylic material provided a high thickness consistency and is easy to fabricate, with less chance of warping or shrinkage, when compared to extruded acrylic. Cast acrylic will cut easily without meting edges and can be polished to a high lustre after cutting.

• Material sheets are available in various sheet sizes and finishes
• Shipping is generally more economical in smaller sized sheets, up to 22kg in weight. To calculate approximate acrylic sheet weight use the following formula:
• Weight(kg = Width(m)*Length(m)*Thickness(mm)*1.19
• For example the following is the weight estimate per sheet:
• 3mm Thick Acrylic 200*300mm = 215g
• 3mm Thick Acrylic 300*600mm = 643g
• 3mm Thick Acrylic 600*600mm = 1.28kg
• 3mm Thick Acrylic 600*900mm = 1.93kg
