Environmentally Friendly Primer | Enviro ...
Enviro Epoxy B once applied, produces a hard wearing, durable surface suitable for commercial and industrial applications. This system performs well in the most demanding environments.
Advantages:
Uses:
Physical properties:
Enviro Epoxy B is supplied as 2 part solvent free epoxy system.
Part A: Base, Liquid Part B: Hardener, Liquid.
Application directions:
Substrate preparation
The surface must be clean and sound. Free from all loose particles, including dust, all laitance, greases, coatings, curing compounds, or any other foreign matter. The substrate must be prepared by way of degreasing, grinding or captive shot blasting to expose the aggregate and provide a profile. Allow floor to dry if degreasing has been carried out, before applying Enviro Epoxy B.
Priming
Priming may be required in certain circumstances. If required apply Enviro Epoxy B at a rate of 5 – 8m²/L. Refer to Enviro Systems for specific recommendations.
Mixing
Add Part B, liquid hardener to the Enviro Epoxy B Part A base. Mix using slow speed mechanical mixing equipment with suitable mixing paddle attached. Mix for 5 minutes or until uniform.
Application
Enviro Epoxy B can only be applied using a brush or roller. Apply one coat of Enviro Epoxy B to achieve a minimum Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of 150 microns. Broadcast selected aggregate onto the Enviro Epoxy B to achieve extra mechanical adhesion for top coats. Remove excess aggregate prior to proceeding with additional coats. Enviro Epoxy B can also be used as primer/binder for a wide variety of systems such as Enviro Epoxy TC, Enviro Epoxy RC, Enviro Epoxy WB and also polyurethane and acrylic membranes. Refer to appropriate data sheet for application recommendations.
Estimating data (theoretical)
The consumption of Enviro Epoxy B will depend upon substrate condition or type. As a guide: One 16 litre kit of Enviro Epoxy B will cover approximately 80 – 100m² based on achieving a coating of 125 – 200 microns Dry Film Thickness.
Packaging
Enviro Epoxy B is supplied in 16 ltr and 4 ltr kits proportioned ready for mixing.
Chemical resistance
Enviro Epoxy B is resistant to a large range of chemicals and is suitable for most dilute acids and alkalise. Contact Waterproofing Technologies for recommendations on specific applications.
Curing
Enviro Epoxy B generally can be recoated after allowing curing overnight. Floors can be open to pedestrian traffic generally 24 hours after curing of the final coat. Vehicular traffic can commence after 3 days. The coating must be allowed to cure for 7 days at 25°C before being subjected to chemicals.
Cleaning
Enviro Epoxy B should be removed from all tools and equipment, prior to hardening with Enviro Thinners No.1 or MEK. Observe all OH&S and MSDS information pertaining to safe usage and handling of solvents. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Shelf life
Enviro Epoxy B can be store in its original sealed containers for 24 months in controlled environments.
Safety advice
Enviro Epoxy B contents are considered non-flammable. Always provided adequate ventilation and wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) during use. Avoid contact with skin. Avoid breathing vapour. Wear protective eyewear. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, have plenty of water and milk. Seek immediate medical advice. Wash of splashed of material with clean water and soap. If irritation occurs seek medical advice. Refer to MSDS.
