Hydraulic-Torque Spanner Pumps
Hydraulic Spanner Pumps use specific valve manifold to operate Hydraulic Spanner Tools. The Advance Side operates from 1,500PSI - 10,000PSI thus controling the torque/power output. A auto-shift valve controls the Retract Side with 1,500 PSI. Pumps can be 240 Volt or Air powered . Supplied with simple protective chrome frame, Hose Couplers, oil cooler, remote control and 4" Gauge.
Hydraulic Spanner Operation?
The tool obtains its torque power by a Hydraulic Cylinder inside the tool body which push directly against a ratchet gear. The Cylinder is powered by a High Pressure Hydraulic pump via twinline hoses, one to advance the cylinder, the other to retract. A Variable Pressure Regulator from 1,500 PSI to 10,000 PSI controls the pressure to the small Cylinder inside the tool, thus controlling the Torque/power Output. A Torque Chart is used to connect Output to Pressure PSI figures to set. Once the Pressure is set, the tool will "stall" or stop turning when the pre-set Torque (via the PSI pressure) is achieved.
These Tools only use Impact Sockets, designed to take the large Torque pressures. Square Drive Sizes from 3/4" up to 2-1/2" with from 130 to 52,000 Ft Lbs ( 180 to 70,000 Nm ) are typical. The Impact Sockets are thick walled for extra strengh.
The Tool uses a "Reaction Arm" to push against an solid point to attain the Torque on the bolt. This means the Operator need only hold the Tool in place & is not required to take any of the torque/power reaction, adding to the Safety of these Torque Spanners.
Hydraulic Spanners don't rely on man power or air pressures. The Hydraulic-Pump power is consistent and far more reliable. Hydraulic-torque Spanner tools offer the best Torque or Power output for their weight and size. They are used for any maintenance or shutdown jobs, through to the heavy Industry applications.
