Wearalloy Wear Plate Welding

For welding Wearalloy Plate we recommend the use of low hydrogen electrodes as specified in AS/NZS 1554.4. Pre-heating is required on plates thicker than 50mm.

Wearalloy Wear Plate Drilling and Machining

Wearalloy AR450 and AR500 can be machined or drilled with high speed or carbide tools at low speeds.As the hardness level of the plate increases it is necessary to decrease the cutting depth and feed speed.

Wearalloy Wear Plate Forming

Wearalloy AR450 can be cold formed in press brake or rolls. It is necessary to allow for a bending radius of 3 to 5 times that of ordinary steel. Minimal cold forming can be performed on our Wearalloy AR500 with proper equipment.

Wearalloy Wear Plate Warranty

Wearalloy is an abrasion resistant material and is not designed for structural applications. Ford Steel Company warrants its product against defective material, which will either be replaced or credited to the customer's account after investigation. Ford Steel are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages.
