All Turtle Tough DSS Sensors are compatible with the Site Sentinel datalogger to provide a highly reliable, direct-to-host data monitoring system in a single package. This state of the art data logger has been configured to work directly with Turtle Tough Smart Sensors and is ideal for utilities, environmental, and remote monitoring applications with limited infrastructure.

The Site Sentinel® is configured to work with all DSS sensors, either standalone or in conjunction with our range of supported analysers. This data is stored internally on non-volatile flash memory with upstream communications provided using an internal 3G or 4GX cellular modem. The cellular options provide support for the tri-band 3G or 4GX option, permitting use on CAT-M1 and NB-IoT networks.

Host compatibility is ensured with integrated support for DNP3.0 and FTP data protocols. Complete control is handed to the user to allow custom data reporting and wake-from-sleep regimes to be configured to balance battery life against data reporting requirements. Remote configuration and device management are supported via leading industry SCADA applications.

An additional communications port provides Modbus Master communications capability. User-configurable Modbus table permits the download of pre-defined or ad-hoc Modbus data profiles to support ‘smart’ downstream devices such as flow meters, power meters and other water quality probes.

Site Sentinel Models

Site Sentinel X1

The Site Sentinel® X1 is our flagship product and is the ultra-low-power, waterproof, utility and an environmentally-focused variant of the Site Sentinel® product family.  The Site Sentinel X1 provides highly-reliable direct-to-host data monitoring in a single package thanks to a built-in 4G (Cat-M1 / NB-IoT) cellular modem and native DNP3 / FTP data protocols as standard. 

The Site Sentinel X1 is designed for high volume, ultra-long life “battery only” deployments, with the user being provided with complete control of wake-from-sleep, sensor power control and data logging regimes, as well as report-to-host intervals. Extensive user-configurable Analog and Digital Alarming functionality are also provided.

The Site Sentinel X1 is offered in three (3) different models to match the desired functionality against deployment price-point, each with a different mix of Digital Inputs/Counters, Analog Inputs, Modbus Master RS232 / RS485 Communications Port, Dedicated JPEG Image Capture Camera Port and in-built Solar Regulator / Battery Charger.

The Site Sentinel X1-001 / X1-002 products support connection to the XBAT-033 high-capacity extended battery pack for ultra-long deployment life where connection to Solar / External DC supply is not possible.

The Site Sentinel X1 product range offers end users a cutting edge hardware platform design and industry-leading ultra-low battery power consumption along with IP68 Rating (4 metres / 4 days).

The Site Sentinel X1 product is equipped with both Internal and External Antenna connections on all models.

Site Sentinel P1

The Site Sentinel® P1 product is the industrial-focused variant of the Site Sentinel® RTU / Datalogger family and is designed for installation into an equipment cubicle or other enclosure. The Site Sentinel P1 provides highly-reliable direct-to-host data monitoring in a single package thanks to the built-in 3G cellular modem and native DNP3 and FTP data protocols as standard.

Modbus Master support (user-configurable) is provided for connection to one or more “smart” downstream devices such as flow meters, power meters, multi-parameter water quality probes, distributed remote I/O etc.

The Site Sentinel P1 product is equipped with a wide-range 9-36 Volt DC Supply Input, 4 x Analog Inputs (V or I), 4 x Digital Inputs/Counters, 2 x Digital Outputs and a Modbus Master RS232 / RS485 Communications Port. Unused Analog Inputs can also operate as additional Digital Inputs.

The Site Sentinel P1 product can be configured for “low power” sleep mode operation, or be configured as a “real-time” polled device allowing data updates on demand.

The Site Sentinel P1 also has the ability to operate as a standalone pump station controller as well as a telemetry unit, providing a true single box solution for basic pump control and telemetry monitoring applications.
