NGP Gas preHeater
Problem: As carbon dioxide (CO2) flows through a cylinder valve, the gas expands and becomes significantly colder which in turn can cause moisture within the CO2 to freeze at the regulator seat. The formation of ice around the regulator seat can lead to flow restriction or complete blockage of the system. Freezing of CO2 is more likely to occur with higher flows and in colder climates or the tropics where moisture in the air can form ice on the outside of equipment.
Solution: A method of minimising the above problem is to preheat the gas prior to entry to the regulator.
The NGP Gas preHeater has been designed to be connected between the outlet of a cylinder and the inlet of a regulator. The powerful 200 Watt heating element heats the gas as it flows through the body of the heater. The temperature of the heater is thermostatically controlled to around 75°C.
Features Include:
• Australian designed & manufactured
• Built tough. Proven 30 year old design
• Upgraded 200 Watt element – more grunt
• Moisture & dust resistant casing
• Models for CO2 and other gases
• 240 volt/200 Watt model supplied with 10 amp plug, 1.7M lead
• 110 volt/160 Watt model supplied with 10 amp plug, 1.7M lead
• Rated to 200 lpm (dependent on atmospheric conditions)
• Element and thermostat are replaceable
