Engineering Plastics | Phenolic Bakelite
During manufacturing; heat and pressure is applied to impregnated reinforcing material of paper, cotten or fabric. The heat and pressure causes the resin to melt between the layers which causes it to solidify and bond the layers together to form Bakelite
The properties Phenolic (Bakelite) is typically a hard dense and lightweight material.
Bakelite are very lightweight, approx half the weight of aluminium. Bakelite is tough, resistant to abrasion, high impact and material fatigue and its also resistant to water and corrosion from many chemicals which means it increases the service life and efficiency of your product part.
Our engineering workshop is equipped with machinery for cutting, turning, drilling, profile shaping, milling and thicknessing.
Whether you require a prototype or a production run, the materials, precision and quality you will receive are unequalled.
We use state-of-the-art machining facilities to manufacture Bakelite.
