Improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and optimising resource use are now priorities across industries. KAESER Compressors has long recognised the importance of sustainability, embedding efficiency and resource conservation into every stage of its operations. The philosophy of “More compressed air for less energy” guides product development, ensuring that compressed air systems operate as efficiently as possible while minimising environmental impact.
A Holistic Approach to Efficiency
To further the push toward sustainability, KAESER has developed a structured approach: Rethink. Research. Reduce. Repair. This framework helps guide decision-making at every stage of product development and operation.

- Rethink – New product designs are developed through innovative thinking, with selected employees trained in Design Thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute.
- Research – With over 100 years of expertise, KAESER continuously refines its technology using advanced simulation tools and prototype validation.
- Reduce – Efficiency remains a core focus, as the majority of a compressed air system’s resource consumption occurs during operation. Packaging materials have also been updated to recyclable honeycomb cardboard and biodegradable bubble wrap, reducing waste and emissions.
- Repair – Maintenance-friendly design ensures products have longer lifespans, reducing unnecessary replacements and associated resource use.
Sustainability Targets and Long-Term Commitment
KAESER’s headquarters in Germany has set clear sustainability goals, aiming to:
- Reduce direct and indirect emissions by 80% by 2030 (compared to 2019 levels).
- Lower emissions from the upstream and downstream value chain (Scope 3) by 15% over the same period.
- Align with key SDGs, with a focus on energy efficiency, CO2 neutrality, environmental protection, and resource conservation.
