Spacepac Industries supplies the Skatework Electric Tug with Refrigerated Unit Kit to transport biological material and laboratory samples from one building to another within large hospital facilities.
Features of the Skatework Electric Tug with Refrigerated Unit Kit:
The unit is equipped with a buffer battery allowing 8 hours of continuous operation without reducing the range of the vehicle.
The unit can maintain temperatures within a range from +10 to -20 °C, to preserve the organic material transported in compliance with hospital regulations.
The unit may be powered from a 12-24 power supply or from 220V mains electricity, and is completely removable. Should it be necessary to use the vehicle to transport other materials, the mount can also carry a container of the same size as the refrigerated unit.
The vehicle is equipped with all the safety systems necessary for total peace of mind. With its extremely compact dimensions, the Skatework can go anywhere – including service elevators and indoor corridors (where permitted).
The chassis mount also includes a practical front compartment for objects, files and documents. In addition to the standard instruments, the instrument panel also includes an additional charge level indicator to monitor the state of the buffer battery for the refrigeration unit.
The entire traction motor circuit of the vehicle has been modified to ensure the total safety of the vehicle. The drive controls are not only disabled automatically while the main and/or buffer batteries are being charged, but also while the refrigeration unit is connected to 220V mains electricity, to prevent accidentally starting the vehicle with the power cable connected.
The vehicle can also be used to tow accessory trailers configured to perform a wide variety of functions related to hospital logistics, such as transporting laundry, transporting meals and maintenance.
