Battery-Operated, Hand-Held UV Lamp - Spectronics B-14N
Super Portability Without Sacrificing Intensity - The Spectroline® B-Series battery-operated lamps are so light and compact that you can take them almost anywhere, which makes them suitable for those times when you need a UV source but don't have an AC wall outlet available. They are the most powerful units of their type, with intensities up to twice as high as competitors' units! A specular aluminum reflector maximizes UV irradiance for even brighter fluorescent response.
Ideal for Numerous Applications - These versatile units are offered in short, medium and long wave UV models and may be used anywhere on batteries. In addition, the BEA-140, BEF-140C, BEA-160, BEB-160C and BEF-160C have the capability of running on 120 volt AC line current through the use of optional Spectroline AC adapters. They may be relied on for innumerable applications including UV curing, mineralogy, security control, medical diagnosis, nondestructive testing, rodent contamination detection and general fluorescence analysis. The long wave lamps come with integrally filtered tubes, while the short and medium wave lamps have a separate LONGLIFE™ filter assembly which assures higher initial UV irradiance and resists solarization so that it lasts up to 50 times longer than conventional UV filters.
Long-Lasting Battery Power - The B-Series lamps were designed to provide hours of uninterrupted use. In fact, the B-14N, B-14F, BEA-140 and BEF-140C can be operated for approximately five hours on fresh batteries, while the BEA-160, BEB-160C and BEF-160C can operate for as long as seven hours.
Rechargeable Operation - The B-14N and B-14F operate on five C-cell batteries, either alkaline or nicad rechargeable. By connecting the model RB-1400 charger to the lamp receptacle, the batteries may be recharged without removing them from the lamp. While the BEA-140 and BEF-140C will also operate with either five alkaline or nicad batteries, the nicad cells must be removed from the lamp and recharged in a commercially available charging unit.
AC Adaptability - The model BAC-14 AC adapter for the BEA-140 and BEF-140C, or the model BAC-16 AC adapter for the BEA-160, BEB-160C and BEF-160C, may be used to easily convert the lamps to 120 volt operation. There's no need to remove the batteries. Simply insert the jack of the adapter into the lamp receptacle and then plug it into a 120 volt wall outlet.
Designed for Hand-Held Comfort and Durability - All B-Series lamps are specially constructed to feel comfortable in your hand, even after hours of operation. These rugged units are built for hard, round-the-clock use. The 6-watt lamps come with a built-in, metal carrying handle, while the B-14N and B-14F have a convenient wrist carrying strap. All 4-watt lamps also have a snap-on, metal carrying handle (model CH-180) available as an accessory. The long wave lamps (models B-14N, BEA-140 and BEA-160) feature a transparent, plastic tube guard to insure against accidental breakage. All units are built with heavy-gauge, anodized-aluminum housings.
